What should I wear to class?
Proper attire is always required in class. A good rule to follow is if an outfit is suitable to wear to the gym, you can wear it to class! We recommend sleeveless shirts or tank top and shorts for our pole classes, comfortable clothing which may include sleevless shirts or tank tops, shorts, jazz or sweat pants, or if you like, leotard and tights for our dance classes and comfortable workout attire which may include sweat pants, shorts, tee shirt or tank top and gym shoes for all other fitness classes. Our goal is to help you feel comfortable. You will find it is easier to perform moves on the pole with plenty of direct skin-to-pole contact. Excessive sleeve and/or pants fabric will make the pole slippery. Jewelry, especially rings, should not be worn, to prevent personal injury and damage to the jewelry. Please refrain from using body lotions and moisturizers before pole classes as these can make the pole slippery and hard to work with. Please note that classes are always taught barefoot for our beginners because it is much easier and safer with the routines we will be performing.
What should I bring to class?
A: Bring along a small towel, as students typically work up a sweat! A water bottle or sports drink to replenish your fluids is recommended; bottled water is available for our students to purchase in the studio.
How long are classes?
Class times range from 45 minutes to one hour depending on the class. This time can includes a warm-up, instructional time, practice and demonstration and choreography. The studio doors will open a half hour prior to the start of class and will remain open one half hour after class. This time is for any clothes changing, personal preparation and practice, and for us to answer any questions or assist ladies with registration. It is not mandatory to come early or stay late, but please allow yourself enough time to be fully dressed and prepared by scheduled class start. If you are not available to make it to a scheduled class, please be sure to log in to your account to cancel your class at least 24 hours prior to the class date.
What other services are offered?
Our studio space has been designed to accommodate special events such as birthday parties, bachelorette parties, divorce parties, girls night out parties, just because parties and solo instruction. Do you offer one-on-one instruction?
We happily provide personal instruction in a one-on-one setting for those who would prefer to try our sexy fun fitness concept. This is also great for a close-knit group of friends who would prefer to keep their session private. How many students are in the typical class?
Our studio is designed so that all students are able to partake in the most learning time in any given class. With this in mind, we keep our class sizes small and personal with no more than 8-10 ladies for dance and fitness classes and 5 ladies for pole dance classes. In our pole dance classes and series classes, students never have to share a pole as we like each lady to have the most learning and practice time possible. This is done for your enjoyment and safety. These small numbers ensure personalized instruction and attention for everyone participating.
Is there an age/weight/fitness-level restriction?
We welcome all women ages 18 and up. Please note that we do not allow spectators or children present in the studio during class for everyones safety and enjoyment. Our beginning course is designed for students of all fitness levels, shapes and sizes. Please inform the instructor if you have any health concerns or questions that could impact the experience. If you are currently under the care of a physician for a health condition, please seek their advice before beginning and/or modifying any fitness routine.
Do I have to start at the beginners course for the pole classes? Can I re-take a course instead of advancing?
A: Because proper form, pole safety and techniques are taught in the beginners pole course, we do require our students to start in this class unless you demonstrate that you are prepared according to our curriculum to start in a class at another level. If you prefer to re-take the beginners course instead of moving to the intermediate course upon completion, we are very supportive of this. We understand some students may have different goals for their fitness routine and desires for the classes that may not include progressing to the more advanced levels.
Are there risks with pole dancing?
A: As with any fitness activity, there can be an element of risk; pole dancing is no different. Our beginners course will help teach you about safety issues and proper stretching to help minimize risk and maximize enjoyment. Please be aware of the following: some students may experience bruises from pole contact, pole friction and/or chaffing and slipping. Please inform the instructor if you have any health concerns or questions that could impact your experience. If you are currently under the care of a physician for a health condition, please seek their advice before beginning or modifying any fitness routine.
